Modern Slavery Statement
1.1. Alteon is committed to delivering the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity when dealing with its customers. This extends to measures that address Modern Slavery.
1.2. Alteon operates a zero tolerance to slavery and human trafficking.
1.3. This statement is made in relation to the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes Alteon’s slavery and human trafficking statement for the current year. Alteon expects all those in our supply chain to comply with our values and to have suitable anti-slavery and human trafficking policies and processes.
1.4. Alteon is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
1.5. This policy applies to all employees and managers of Alteon and extends to any organisation or individual that Alteon conducts business with. As such, Alteon:
Understands and is committed to making sure that there is no modern slavery within our own business or in any aspect of our supply chain.
Carries out business with various companies worldwide and considers the nature of the business we carry out to be low risk in relation to modern slavery.
1.6. Specific measures that uphold this policy include (but are not limited to):
Right to work in the UK – documentation is obtained and checked for each job applicant.
Supplier auditing – each new supplier must provide a valid Modern Slavery statement as part of the sign-up process.
Responsibilities – The board of directors are accountable for making sure the company is acting with due diligence and will ensure any risk assessments are carried out prior to engaging with suppliers and customers.
1.7. The Senior Managers of Alteon are responsible for supply chain verification for existing and future suppliers in relation to the Modern Slavery Act.
1.8. All Team Leaders, Heads of Department, Senior Managers and the board have training on modern slavery and the implications for Alteon.
